There is no ‘Self’ in ‘Self-Publishing’

And so finally, with a few weeks to spare before I screech into 43; the proof of THE final draft of “42” is being printed this week.  There have been many, many final drafts…

42 poems all penned this year in full colour ‘real’ paper print.  They are not all on here, there are some new ones kept back for the book, but I’ll add them here in time.

I can’t wait to get it in my hands and am indebted to Mark @Powlson’s printers in Colwyn Bay for his endless patience and humour dealing with a total novice!

And it makes it even more poignant that those words will be turned real in the Bay…the circle completes perfectly.

I knew Mark was the right person to trust with this right from the beginning because I’ve seen the amazing job done with Laura Stenhouse’s art.  It was confirmed yesterday when after yet another U turn on the last version, he remarked, ‘So, is this final version number 42?!’ 🙂  Actually…not far off! It certainly feels like it.  There have certainly been somewhere near that number of emails flying around along the lines of:
“This is the final version!” Followed by:
“No, wait, I’ve changed something…”

There is absolutely no place for ‘self’ in the phrase ‘self-publishing’.

Imagine it being your job to turn someone’s wistful imaginings into a reality!

So…watch this space  – it’s coming.

And look at the date today  😉
