Dragon Flight Night

The night the dragonfly broke through the mirrorstill waters
Was the night she broke free of the earth.
Translucent wings spread wide; dried
As another miles away; died
Tissue paper thin skin,  wings
Resting a while.
While breathing at last.
While breathing her last.

Dragonfly night.
Iridescent twilight-
Caught between two worlds
Of light and dark,
Water and air.

Resplendent fresh hatched life
Bracing herself to take flight.

Resplendent fresh hatched light
Bracing herself to take flight.

Dragon flight night
The night you broke free
Left that outgrown husk behind.

Usually found with a cup of tea, a pet or a book, I am most content with life's humble gifts. A catch up with friends and home baked cakes is my idea of bliss. My heart beats where my family are close but my soul will always be in that place between sunset and sunrise. 💚
